Assignments

Overview

Assignments track owned work items from creation through completion. They are used to assign specific tasks to team members, set ownership and priority, monitor progress, and keep execution work clearly accountable. Assignments can be linked to a specific survey or element so the assignee has direct context for where the work applies.

Create and assign work items from the Assignments tab.


Where Assignments Appear

  • Site Detail → Assignments tab — All assignments for that specific site.
  • My Assignments (main left navigation) — A cross-site view of assignments relevant to you.

In the My Assignments view, toggle between:

  • My Assignments — Work currently assigned to you.
  • Assignments I've Sent — Work you have assigned to others.

The Assignments Table

The Assignments tab displays a table with the following columns:

Column Description
(Checkbox) Click the circular checkbox to mark the assignment complete.
Title The assignment title. Shows a survey indicator if linked to a survey.
Status Current status badge.
Assignee The team member responsible.
Priority Priority badge.
Due Date The due date, if one was set.
Survey The linked survey name, or a dash if not linked.
Element The linked element, or a dash if not linked.

Click any row to open that assignment's detail and edit panel.


Statuses and Priorities

Statuses

Status Meaning
To Do Created but not yet started.
In Progress Actively being worked on.
Blocked Work cannot proceed — something is preventing progress.
Done Work is complete.

Priorities

Priority When to use it
High Urgent work that needs immediate attention.
Medium Standard priority for most tasks.
Low Non-urgent; complete when capacity allows.

Filtering Assignments

Use the Filters panel at the top of the tab to narrow the list:

  • Search — Filter by keyword in the assignment title.
  • Due Date — Filter by Overdue, This Week, Next Week, This Month, or No Due Date.
  • Survey — Show only assignments linked to a specific survey.
  • Element — Show only assignments linked to a specific element.
  • Status — Filter by a specific status.
  • Assignee — Filter by a specific team member.
  • Priority — Filter by priority level.

Click Clear all to reset all filters at once.


Creating an Assignment

  1. Click Create Assignment in the top-right corner of the Assignments tab.
  2. The create panel slides in from the right. Fill in the fields:
Field Required Description
Title Yes A clear, descriptive title for the task.
Description Yes The expected outcome or the specific next steps required.
Assignee Yes The team member responsible for completing this work.
Observers No Additional team members who receive status update notifications.
Priority No High, Medium, or Low.
Due Date No The target completion date.
Survey No Link to a specific survey for context.
Element No Link to a specific element — only available after a survey is selected.
  1. Click Create Assignment to save.

The new assignment appears in the table immediately.


Editing an Assignment

Click any assignment row to open the detail and edit panel. All fields can be updated. Click Save Changes when done.


Marking Complete

Click the circular checkbox on the left of an assignment row to toggle it complete. The status automatically moves to Done. Click the checkbox again to revert.


Typical Workflow

  1. Create the assignment and set the assignee, priority, and due date.
  2. Link it to the related survey or element so the assignee has context.
  3. The assignee updates the status as work moves forward (To Do → In Progress → Done).
  4. Use the comments and attachments inside the detail panel to keep communication on the record.
  5. A supervisor or account manager reviews completed work and confirms closure.
